Imagine a triptych – three panels – three books. The first depicts a French aristocrat in 18th Century clothes burying a cello and a painting. The second a glamorous woman with hair in the 1920s’ style, wearing a stunning red gown and playing a cello with her eyes closed. The third a frightened girl running, carrying a bundle in her arms. Connecting them all three brothers and two women in the present time. The three brothers: Antero Reeve, an architect, working in the Loire Valley, France, Armando Reeve, a musicologist, newly moved to the village of Steyning in Sussex, England, and researching the life of a great Portuguese cellist – Guilhermina Suggia – intending to write a book about her; Anselmo Reeve, a photographer, living in Munich, Germany. The two women: Ellen Matthews, a cello teacher/tutor, living in Steyning, Armando’s neighbour, had a son at sixteen – Andrew – who is now thirty and an acclaimed opera/classical music conductor; Amira Denning-Deschamps, a business woman, unusually beautiful, widow, inherited her husband’s fortune and business empire after his death, also had a son at 16 – Guillaume – who is now thirty and runs the empire with her.

Five Star ***** Amazon Review for The Triptych:

Patrick Waller wroteCompelling – These three books imaginatively interweave real and fictional people, places and events across four centuries” and “For me the acid test of a good book is whether you don’t want it to end. This passes with flying colours and I highly recommend it.

Praise for THE TRIPTYCH from W. Blann, a reader from Sussex via Facebook message:

” Dear M G da Mota, I had to let you know how overwhelmingly impressed and delighted I am by your writing ability. I have just finished THE TRIPTYCH. I couldn’t put it down and stole many moments away from other things I should have been doing so I could continue to read it! You are so very talented and have an excellent style of writing, creating characters you come to know and intrigue that is gripping. Bravo, bravo.”
